Charlie is a Research Project Support Officer assisting with a range of collaborative research projects in the fields of water quality in shellfish production areas, shellfish disease and parasites, bivalve recruitment and molecular identification supporting the shellfish sector in Wales.
Kate is a Research Technician working on the project while completing a degree in Applied Marine Biology. She provides technical support within the laboratories with a specific interest in molecular biology.
Phoebe is a Research Project Support Officer supporting the delivery of environmental quality and fisheries projects. Phoebe is responsible for undertaking microbiological and chemical laboratory analyses and fieldwork to aid collaborative research activities in the field of shellfish and human diseases and to support the shellfish sector in Wales.

Shelagh has extensive experience in collaborative applied research. Primarily on environmental impacts on shellfish covering four main themes, ecological processes, climate change, pollutants and pathogens and aquaculture.
David’s research has focused on stock enhancement strategies for a variety of shellfish species. His particular field of interest is the restoration of the Native oyster Ostrea edulis from both a self –sustaining fishery perspective and as an environmental enrichment tool. Karen is the Project Manager for the Shellfish Centre Operation working alongside Lewis LeVay. Karen brings previous expretise of managing EU funded projects and her previous experience of working in marine science.
Julie is a Post-doctoral research officer at Bangor University’s Centre for Applied Marine Sciences (CAMS). Her background is in applied marine biology. Julie’s research interests focus on integrating aquaculture innovation with environmental sustainability. Jamie is a Research Support Officer with extensive experience of offshore longline mussel systems, mussel settlement and validation of molecular techniques to monitor local mussel populations.
Ben is a Science Officer conducting research to support the development of sustainable shellfish aquaculture. He has experience is environmental virology, instrumentation and engineering. He is interested in technology and innovation, methods and site selection, food safety, commercial viability and environmental sustainability
